Maya began in the summer of 2004 in San Jose CA. In no time they began sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in Hardcore, establishing themselves as a prominent figure in the SF Bay Area local scene. Their first recording came as a demo in 2006. Soon after they finished their first demo, the band began to venture out on the road, including a western US tour in 2007 and a northwestern US tour in 2009. Summer of 2009 Maya released their first album called “Things Get Worse Before They Get Better.” In 2010 Maya hit Mexico for the first time. Por Vida set an image for the band that had Maya touring the Mexican republic. In 2011, they hit the road on a full U.S. tour, bring them home to write a full length. Rebel Alliance was released 2012 on Negative Progression Records (NPR). Maya Is getting ready to release a new EP for Summer 2021.
